Project: Snowy Hamlet

This is a pretty winter scene with a simple colour scheme. I stamped onto cartridge paper as I liked the texture for this project. It needed a window so I used Spellbinder labels 36, but any suitable frame die would do.
Add a greeting and a sprig of holly to finish.

I used:
  • Penny Black Snowy Hamlet
  • Spellbinders Labels 36
  • Zig Clean Colour watercolour markers
  • Sue Wilson Twirling Holly Embossing folder
  • Tim Holtz Thinlits Holiday Greens
  • Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia, Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Greeting: Crafty Impressions Winter Silhouettes
  • Card stock: 220gsm Cartridge paper, White, green
  • Wink of Stella, clear
  • Sticky Pads
  • Big Shot Die cutting machine

Stamp the Hamlet with Tuxedo Black on to cartridge paper and colour the image with the Zig Clean Colour pens, blending with a little water to soften the edges. don't use too much water, just enough to move the colour, otherwise the cartridge paper will pill. I used four colours - blue, brown, grey and green and a hint of yellow for the windows.

Add a little wink of stella to the snow and trees.

Cut a 14 cm2 and die cut the apature to create a frame. Run this through the Big Shot in the Twirling Holly Embossing folder.

Stamp the greeting with Vintage Sepia Versafine ink and die cut with one of the smaller labels.

Cut the Holly Sprig from the Holiday Greens die set, colour with the same green and brown used earlier and arrange behind the greeting.

Layer up the design using sticky pads, Image > Frame > greeting

Stick the whole to a green base card.
