I used:

  • Spellbinders in'spire Umbrella Trio die set
  • The Works M&C lace border die
  • Dark Room Door, Dance cling stamp
  • Ink:Distress, Stormy Sky, Hicory Smoke, Chipped Saphire, Peeled Paint
  • Ink:Memento, Tuxedo Black
  • Card stock:White card stock, Royal blue
  • Patterned paper
  • Raindrops Stencil -Available as a download
  • Foam Pads
  • Big Shot Plus die cutting and embossing machine

Die cut and colour two umbrellas. The handles I did with Gathered Twigs and used this to edge the canopies after using Peeled paint and chipped Sapphire.

For the background, Distress a 14 cm2 white panel with Stormy Sky. Swipe, Spritz and Drag. Keep the colour fairly light.

Use the larger raindrops stencil with Hickory Smoke on the background panel. Reposition the stencil until the whole panel is covered. Edge with Hickory smoke.

Cut a 7 cm x 12 cm panel and stamp the quote with Memento Tuxedo Black

This time use the smaller raindrops with Hickory smoke on the smaller panel, keep them light, shower rather than deluge :) I then edged in Hickory Smoke
I thought it looked a little plain so dug into the stash and added this delicate lace edge die cut from The Works.

Mat the background panel onto royal or dark blue card. Position and stick the quote to one side.

After piecing the umbrellas I decided to add some pattered paper to the canopies in matching colours then popped them onto the background at jaunty angles using foam pads and a spot of glue on the handles.

Finally mount the whole design onto a white 15 cm2 base card.
