Routing through my extensive stash I came across Sammy Seahorse from Joanna Sheen. I knew he would be perfect for Pixie Powders, to give him that iridescent look
Use Pixie Powders, Aqua Lagoon, Pale Olive, Ancient Copper to coat a piece of white card large enough for the seahorse. Build up the layers so the colour is quite intense. You will need to use more Aqua Lagoon to give Sammy his turquoise look.
When the card is dry, die cut Sammy.
Next, die cut 2 sets of the seaweeds and rocks from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Seaweed die set. I didn't use the Sea anemones from the set as there wouldn't be enough room on the card, but you always make a larger design if you wished to include them.
Colour the die cuts with distress inks; Rocks in Hickory Smoke edged with Frayed Burlap, Weed in Peeled Paint, Coral in Rusty Hinge.
Cut a panel in white card. Using the distress inks Tumbled Glass and Antique Linen create the underwater background. I find swiping the ink on your craft sheet, spritzing with water and dragging the card through the ink gives a good effect for the first layer. Dry with a heat gun and dab up the ink for the next layers so that it creates 'bubbles'.
On the reverse of the panel mark the centres of each edge by drawing a cross. Use the marks as a guide to position the Flourish edge punch and shape the sides. the punch doesn't quite cut to the edge so trim off the 'extra'.
Cut a piece of Teal coloured card 14.25 cm2 and use the Flourish border punch in the same way.
Layer the two together.
Cut a white piece of card 13.75 cm2 and emboss with the Sizzix waves embossing folder.
Mount this onto a another slightly larger piece of Teal card.
Assemble the card. Take time to piece the weed and rocks to get a good arrangement. Put Sammy as the central focus and weave his tail into the coral.
Stamp and oval cut the greeting. I edged the oval with Tumbled Glass, then position it onto te design with foam pads.
Finally mount the whole design onto a white 15 cm2 base card.
