I like making Tags, They can be used on their own or as a topper for a card. This tag featires Apple Blossoms' Bird Flourish die on a distressed tag surround by flowers.
Cut the tag from Kraft card. I used the decorative die to at a cut detail to the top of the tag.
Coat the tag in white acrylic paint.
Die cut two Birds and some extra greenery from white card. Cut one bird from the branch then colour both birds with Blueprint Sketch Distress ink. Colour the leaves with Forest Moss ink.
Apply Straw Yellow Pixie powder to the separate bird and spray with water. Set aside to dry.
Coat a scrap piece of kraft card with Rusty Hinge Distress ink. Add some of the Straw yellow pixie powder and spritz with water.
Cut a shape from the distressed kraft card and piece behind the bird
Cut the flourish from Tim Holtz mixed media #2 die set to use as a stencil (or use the actual stencil if you have it – either works)
Apply the gold acrylic paint – it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Distress the tag further with Chipped Sapphire and Gathered Twigs Distressed ink.
Cut flowers from white card using the signature dies and apply Antique Linen Distress ink and coat with iridescent medium, to give them a sheen. When they are dry shape the flowers using jewellery pliers (see quick Tip).
Punch some flower centres from the scrap of kraft card distressed earlier. Shape on the moulding mat with an embossing stylus.
Assemble the flowers.
Stick the two bird shapes together.
Position and stick the bird onto the tag
Add the extra foliage.
Position and stick the flowers.
Finish with a greeting. Spellbinders fancy tag stamped with Penny Black footnotes. Add the greeting from Penny Black’s Jazzy Cats
Edge the greeting tag with gold acrylic paint let dry and then apply chipped sapphire Distress ink. Stick into place with foam pads giving it a slight bend.
